FİXA REPOX 551 | Epoxy Based Road Marking and Floor Paint – Solvent-Free and High Durability

FİXA REPOX 551: High Visibility and Long-Lasting Performance with Epoxy Based Road Marking and Floor Paint

FİXA REPOX 551 is a two-component, solvent-free road marking and floor marking paint based on epoxy resin. Developed for horizontal indoor applications, it stands out with its high abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and long-lasting color performance. It can be safely used even in areas requiring hygiene and provides long-term performance on floors exposed to heavy traffic.

What is FİXA REPOX 551?

REPOX 551 is an epoxy-based coating paint developed for industrial floor marking applications on concrete and resin-compatible mineral surfaces.

It is preferred for applications requiring high visibility such as production areas, occupational health and safety (OHS) markings, and parking guidance lines.

Thanks to its solvent-free structure and high mechanical strength, it maintains its line integrity and color for a long time even under intensive usage conditions.

Application Areas

  • Horizontal floor applications in indoor areas
  • Hospitals, laboratories, food, pharmaceutical, paint, and paper industry facilities
  • Occupational health and safety (OHS) marking lines
  • Production and storage area boundary lines
  • Shopping malls, terminals, indoor parking areas, and warehouse floors
  • High-traffic areas such as factories and aircraft hangars
  • Directional marking lines in offices, stores, exhibition halls, and fair areas

Application System

1. Surface Preparation

The surface to be applied must be clean, dry, and sound.

Dust, oil, silicone, detergent residues, and curing compounds on the surface must be completely removed.

The concrete substrate must have completed at least 28 days of curing, have a compressive strength of ≥ 25 MPa, and a tensile strength of ≥ 1.5 MPa.

Surface moisture content must be below 4%.

2. Mixing

First, Component A is mixed briefly.

Then Component B is added and mixed with a low-speed mixer for approximately 3–4 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is achieved.

Care should be taken to prevent air entrainment.

The prepared mixture should be applied within approximately 35 minutes at 20°C.

3. Application

The material can be applied using a trowel, roller, or airless spray equipment.

A waiting period of 12–24 hours between coats is recommended.

If this period is exceeded, the surface should be lightly roughened before applying the second coat.

For outdoor applications, applying POLAN AF or AFM topcoat is recommended to provide UV resistance.

4. Curing and Protection

The coating can be opened to pedestrian traffic approximately 24 hours after application.

Full mechanical and chemical resistance is achieved after 7 days.

During the first 48 hours, the surface must be protected from water, oil, and chemical contact.

Application Recommendations

  • Application should not be performed below +10°C or above +30°C.
  • The difference between surface temperature and dew point should be at least 3°C.
  • Water or solvent must never be added to the mixture.
  • Products with the same lot number should be preferred to maintain consistent color tone.
  • Adequate ventilation should be provided during the curing process.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can it be used outdoors?

The product is developed for indoor and horizontal applications. If used outdoors, applying POLAN AF or AFM topcoat is recommended for UV resistance.

What is the consumption rate?

For a single coat application, the average material consumption is 200–400 g/m².

When can the surface be opened to traffic?

The coating can be walked on after 24 hours and reaches full mechanical and chemical resistance after approximately 7 days.

What are the requirements for the concrete surface?

The concrete must be fully cured, have moisture content below 4%, and have a minimum compressive strength of 25 MPa.

What is included in the set?

The product is supplied as a 25 kg set consisting of two components: Component A (20.16 kg) and Component B (4.84 kg).
