FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 Silicone-Enhanced Flexible Grout Material

FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 is a high-performance flexible grout material with a cement-based structure, water-repellent properties, and silicone-enhanced formula, providing resistance against mold and dirt formation. The product is safely used for grouting joints of covering materials such as tiles, ceramics, granite, natural stone, and marble. It delivers long-lasting grout performance without being affected by temperature variations, water exposure, or vibrations.

Complying with the TS EN 13888-1:2022 standard and classified as CG2WA, FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 is preferred for both residential applications and high-traffic areas thanks to its reduced water absorption and high abrasion resistance.

Where Is FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 Used?

FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 has a wide range of applications in both indoor and outdoor areas.

Application areas:

  • Horizontal and vertical surfaces in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Hotels, hospitals, shopping malls, and residential projects
  • All wet areas

Surface Preparation

Before starting the grout application, the ceramic or tile adhesive must be allowed to achieve sufficient strength. Generally, a waiting period of 48 hours is adequate. Any remaining mortar residues in the joints must be removed, and the joint gaps should be completely opened. For highly absorbent materials, the joints must be moistened before applying the grout.

Mixing

The specified amount of clean water indicated on the packaging should be poured into a clean mixing container. FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 powder should be gradually added into the water while mixing with a drill mixer operating at 400–600 rpm for 2–3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. After allowing the mixture to rest for 3–5 minutes, it should be mixed again for 1 minute before application.

Different water ratios or mixing methods may cause color variations.

Mixing ratios:

  • For 20 kg: 6.40 ±0.20 liters of water
  • For 5 kg: 1.60 ±0.05 liters of water
  • For 1 kg: 320 ±10 ml of water

Application Method

The prepared mortar is applied into the joints using a rubber float with diagonal movements. In deep joints, the material should be allowed to settle, and the application should be repeated if necessary.

In extremely hot weather conditions and on absorbent surfaces, joints should be slightly moistened with a damp sponge before application. Once the material reaches sufficient hardness to withstand finger pressure, the surface should be cleaned with a wet sponge to achieve the final appearance.

Consumption

The consumption rate of FOX AQUAFUGA FX150 varies depending on ceramic dimensions, joint width, and joint depth. The consumption values provided in the technical data sheet are theoretical values and are expressed in g/m².
